I managed to go jogging again this morning.

I'm going to filter future entries in my exercise log, so if you want in on it, comment here.

Woke up at 6am at DH's prodding (which I asked him to do. thank you!), and was out the door by 6:15am. Jogged pretty much without stopping, except for the occasional mud puddle, or downed tree for about 15 minutes. Turned around and alternated walking and jogging for another 20 minutes. Got back home just as DH was heading out the door for work. Didn't quite get to the 1.7 mile marker on the trail, but I don't think I was far from it when I turned around. So something around 3 miles total, I think.

It was a little easier this time around. I don't feel quite so wiped out. But I'm still sore. Did I mention how sore I was after Sunday's run? Soreness. Especially my thighs.

Running along the trail is nice, but I won't be able to do it after it rains, like the forecast is threatening in the next few days, so I'll have to figure out a good road route.

If I'm really going to continue this, I'm going to need a good pair of shock-absorbing running shoes and a good sports bra.

I want in on your log!

Good shoes are very important. And stretching. Stretching's good too.

Yay exercising!

I remember doing stretching exercises in gym class and thinking what a waste of time it was. Now that I'm older (and far less flexible) I'm realizing what a good idea it is!

Gee, don't I feel lame. I set my alarm to get up early to hit the trails before I go to work, but just kept hitting the snooze. I guess I will try again tomorrow.

you are motivating to me, and I want in on the log!

It helps that DH regularly wakes up pretty early, and doesn't have a snooze button!

Yay, motivation!

Hey, good job. It has taken me quite a while to be able to do 3 miles at that pace. Or at any pace :).

I found that Target was actually a good place for sports bras. They carry some jogbra brand stuff which I like (for under $20, even). I didn't like the Champion brand stuff as much.

Also, I would read such a filter. Yay motivation.

thanks! :)

I'll try Target this weekend. Hopefully the mall it's in will also have a decent shoe store...

Please sign me up for the filter. Are you filtering for privacy, or to not flood people with exercise stuff, or ?? (wondering if I should filter also)

3 miles in 35 minutes == v. v. good! Congrats.

I am promising myself good shoes if I make my goals re: running over the next 12 weeks. I am hoping the "need a good bra" problem will take care of itself as I lose weight. Last summer a sports bra plus a tight "yoga" shirt did the trick for me.

When I ran yesterday, lots of bits flapped more than I would have liked. I am also quite sore today, yay!

I'm filtering mostly to not bore people with the details of my exercise regime.

Yeah, I know the feeling. :) Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I better sign up too. Peer pressure to exercise is good peer pressure.
I thought the whole point of LJ is to write things that other people might find boring but then it's their own fault because why do they read it if they get bored blah blah blah :)

Yeah, well, do unto others and all... :)

I'd sign up for it. Also, since a number of people on my friends list are doing exercise regimes this summer, interested in a group exercise community? [livejournal.com profile] ahsu and I kicked the idea around a few weeks ago, but were both to lame to do anything about it.

I've promised myself good shoes (mine are passable, but I wear my sneakers everywhere, so they won't be passable if I actually run regularly until the end of summer) in September if I meet my exercise goals between now and then.

A good sports bra is an absolute necessity. I forgot to throw mine in my gym bag for my last frisbee match and damn do demi-cups and lots of short, hard sprints not mix well.

I might be interested in a group exercise community, but it would help if I actually knew some of them IRL, you know? Maybe we can convince some of the above people to join, too...
