Well, I accomplished my goal of not going anywhere over the weekend. But it ended up being eventful anyway.
Tigerlily went to the animal hospital to get her glucose regulated. She ended up staying overnight, and we ended up with a $300+ vet bill and the responsibility of injecting her with insulin twice a day for the rest of her life. DH and I had an angst-laden discussion of the monetary value of a cat with some really annoying (and often destructive) habits, and ended up deciding that once she was regulated, the monthly cost ought to be manageable, so what can I say, we're just a couple of bleeding hearts.
I'm becoming increasingly fed up with the way I look and feel, so I went jogging. I hate jogging. Really. The last time I did any sort of running was in high school gym, because they forced us to. But it's perhaps the most convenient form of exercise I have, since I don't have to drive anywhere to do it, and look! A nice trail through the woods behind our house! I don't know how far I went, but I went along at a gentle pace for about 15 minutes pretty much without stopping, and alternated walking/jogging back, for a total of about 35 minutes. If I were really ambitious, I'd try getting up early Tuesday and Thursday before DH leaves for work and do it again. And now I've put it in writing so that I have even more motivation to actually do it.
Later that evening, I went to the pool with DS1, and convinced him to let me do a couple of laps during Adult Swim, and I really do mean just a couple, because I felt lightheaded and weak after those 100 yards. Either too much exercise in one day, or I'm that out of shape, or both.
And I started on a sleeve on my top-down cardigan. Not that the body is done yet. So I was working with six balls of super-tangly yarn, except I was working off two ends of one ball so really it was only five. And then DS2 got his foot caught in it. Eep! But I perservered, finished off the bit requiring the two-ended ball, and so now I'm back to only 4 balls of yarn. And this time I put it where neither cat nor toddler can get to it.

Date: 2005-07-11 04:54 pm (UTC)8 - 1 ft wide louvered doors. They've been primed for more than a month, but I finally had time to paint and wanted them done! Now to assemble them. Surprised Astra didn't mention my letting DS1 play with the cordless drill. Or our experiment in paper mache. :-) Of course, maybe I should have spent time working on the railing so we don't have piles of preschoolers playing on our stairs without a railing at DS1's birthday party.
