Milestone

My 7-1/2 6-1/2 year old Prius hit the 100,000 mark on Wednesday, while taking the kids to the dentist.

My kids were completely mystified as to why I was making a big deal out of it. Then again, perhaps you are, too.

Did you take pictures?

I don't understand your kids. I remember celebrating that sort of thing when I was a kid. (And celebrating border crossings any time we entered a new state, and...)

Yes, I took pictures, which was what mystified my kids. But they are still on the camera, and probably won't be uploaded for a while. (The pictures I mean, not my kids.)

I don't think I would have gotten it before I started a semi-car-based life. "it's like a birthday for cars, and then they need more shots!"

...or at least more diagnostic tests. Like mammograms and stuff.

In the "proof I don't drive a lot" category, my 12-year-old Saturn is only at 80K or so... Good thing you have the earth-friendly car.

Though they may confiscate it at the western state border and issue you a pickup truck as a replacement.

Comes of living in a car-dependent city.

When we rented a car for our trip out recently, there were way more pickup trucks available than anything else, no joke. Yeehaw!
