Oct. 4th, 2004 04:42 pmDS2 is likely teething, since he wants to chew on things all the time and has trouble sleeping. I think the next set of teeth are supposed to be the upper ones, but I can't tell if anything is there yet. He is also now able to spot his pacifier across the room, crawl over to it, pick it up, and stick it in his mouth -- a multi-step task! Of course, this means he's probably pacifier-addicted now. Don't know if this is better or worse than thumb-sucking, which is DS1's habit.
DS1 has started saying "I don't know" to questions he doesn't know the answer to, instead of standing there looking confused and not saying anything. So he's starting to be able to verbalize better, though there are still times when he knows what he wants but doesn't know how to ask for it or what the words for it are.
DH has embarked on his workshop expansion project. He's taking up about half the toy room, and more than doubling the size of the current workroom. He tore down the old workroom wall last week. Over the weekend he put up the studs for the new wall, put the door in, and ran wires for new outlets and a light switch. DS1 has been having a blast running in and out between the studs and through the door. DS2 hasn't eaten too much plaster...
I dug a couple of knitting projects out over the weekend and finally finished them except for buttons. I don't seem to have anything suitable for either one, so I'll have figure out where to go to find buttons. Here's my excuse to scope out the local knitting shops!
The last paper from my thesis has been accepted for publication! Now I have to start something new... hmmmm....
My (hopefully) last dose of chemotherapy will be on Wednesday! I'd make DH take me out to celebrate, but we're immediately heading to the airport after I see my doctor. It's just as well, I should wait until I get the blood test result confirming that everything's all good before getting too excited. Otherwise I might jinx it.
